Ban Red Bull

Night-club owners in this country should not stock Red Bull as it has been banned in most EU countries, Judge Mary Fahy said this week while hearing evidence in a case involving a serious assault which occurred outside a Salthill night-club.

“It should be brought to the notice of all night-club owners that Red Bull has been banned in most EU countries and if people are running night-clubs they should not stock it.

I only learnt that recently — that it is banned in most countries in the EU — and responsible licensees should not stock it, ”Judge Fahy said of the caffeine drink which most clubbers mix with vodka.

Before the court was Liam Hough (23), with an address at 13 Grattan Court, Fr. Griffin Road Lower, who denied causing serious harm to the knee of Warwick Hotel bouncer John Mullin during a fracas outside the hotel following a live “death metal and devil music” concert in the early hours of May 27, 2006.
