BALLYBANE MAN GETS 5 MONTHS IN JAIL FOR ASSAULTING GARDAI

A Ballybane man has been jailed for five months for breaking a garda’s finger while resisting arrest by another garda.

21 year old Sean Faherty of 124 Ard Alainn, Ballybane, pleaded guilty before Galway District Court to assaulting Garda Barry Nugent, at the Spanish Arch, on April 9 last year.

He also pleaded guilty to assaulting Garda Linda McManus who suffered extensive bruising to her arms and legs during the same incident.
