BALLINDOOLEY RESIDENTS RAISE QUARRY BLASTING CONCERNS

Residents of Ballindooly on the outskirts of the cityare raising concerns over blasting by Lackagh Quarries with the city council today.

They’re claiming the company isn’t giving them enough warning before blasting.

They are hoping to meet with Council planning enforcement officials this morning to discuss their concerns.

The city council says because Lackagh Quarries is a working quarry it’s not obliged to provide advance warnings to anyone except the Gardai.

However it accepted that Lackagh Quarries had been notifying local residents on an informal basis.
