Ballinasloe set for War

Two massive retail development schemes which would generate hundreds of jobs and greatly boost the local economy have been lodged with Ballinasloe Town Council for planning approval.

And the Connacht Tribune has learned that a third planning application for a major shopping complex as well as holiday homes, apartments and leisure facilities, has been turned down by the planning authority in the town.

The race to build shopping and leisure facilities in the East Galway town really hotted up last week when a planning application was lodged by local property developer Paddy Delaney of Brackernagh for a huge 22,000 sq. metre retail park at Dunlo on a 20 acre site off Harbour Road.
