Ballinasloe residents appeal crematorium plans
Galway bay fm newsroom – A residents association in Ballinasloe, representing more than 10 individual groups, is appealing the decision to allow a crematorium be built in the area.
Poolboy community development council has lodged an objection to Kevin Tuohy’s plans for the single storey facility in Garbally demesne.
They argue that no strategic site selection appears to have been carried out, and the only rationale for selecting it seems to be that a sufficient area of land is available.
Several members of Ballinasloe town council have also submitted documents to An Bord Pleanala stating that a legal challenge will be considered if the permission is not revoked at the appeal stage.
