BALLINASLOE FLOOD REPORT TO BE PRESENTED AT PUBLIC MEETING

A major report outlining recommendations to help prevent future flooding in Ballinalsoe will be presented at a meeting in the town this evening.

The Ballinasloe Flood relief study is the brainchild of concerned residents, and was compiled with the assistance of hydrology experts from NUI Galway.

The study focuses on flood management options for 8 areas including Ballinalsoe bridge east, Derrymullen and the town centre.

It cost €50k to complete the report which was raised through a combination of fundraising, and grants from the Ballinasloe flood relief and Community foundation Ireland.

The report will be presented at Gullanes hotel in Ballinasloe at 8pm.
