BALLINASLOE FARMER VOWS TO CONTINUE STAND OFF

The farmer at the centre of the standoff on the N6 roadway construction site in Ballinasloe says he’s not moving until he’s been compensated for damage done to his land.

Padraig Clarke says he won’t allow trucks working on the N6 construction site to dump any more sludge into a field he leased to them for top soil.

He’s claiming they’ve been dumping sludge there for the past month.

He’s spent the night in his jeep blocking in machinery and causing work to be suspended for a second day running on a stretch of the new Ballinasloe to Galway N6 road.

Speaking to Keith Finnegan from the scene, Padraig Clarke vowed to continue his stand-off until he’s compensated by N6 Construction.
