BALLINASLOE COUNCIL CLARIFIES STANCE OVER EPA LICENCE

Ballinasloe Town Council has been forced to clarify its position in relation to a local firm’s environmental licence.

The Environmental Protection Agency made a contentious decision last January to revoke the Pollution Prevention Control licence of Premier Proteins Ltd.

Local workers fearing for their jobs have been venting their anger on the Town Council.

But in a statement to Galway Bay FM News, Ballinasloe Town Council says it has no powers over the Premier Proteins licence.
