BAIL REFUSED TO MAN ACCUSED OF CITY HOUSE BURGLARY
Date Published: 31-Dec-2008
A 24 year-old man accused of robbing a house in the city a day after he was due in court, has been refused bail at Galway District Court.
Jason O’Neill, of no fixed abode, is accused of serious burglary of a home in Wellpark on December 23rd, while there were people in the house.
Inspector Ernie White told Galway District Court, Jason O’Neill was charged with a serious burglary in which people were inside a home, three sets of car keys were taken and the weight of evidence against him was substantial.
O’Neill was arrested by Gardai shortly after the burglary on December 23rd, a day after he failed to turn up in court for the fifth time.
Judge Furlong told the court that somebody with four previous bench warrants has to absolutely ensure they don’t lead to more and refused O’Neill bail.
He remanded him in custody to appear before Harristown District Court on January the 9th.
