Shows from Scotland, France, Italy, Germany, The Netherlands, the USA and Ireland will be staged in Galway city and county as part of the 17th annual Baboró Arts Festival for children, running from October 14-20.

Shows for older audiences include Lifeboat, Tromluí Phinoccio and Me Mollser, as well as a Silent but Deadly Disco with a zombie and vampire theme.

Young children will be catered for with magical, colourful dramas, exploring such varied places as the moon, the clouds, and people’s pockets.

A special feature of this year’s Baboró is its ‘Relaxed Programme’ with performances specifically for those who might struggle to sit through an entire show.

Geared at the very young and at people with special needs, this is part of a growing international trend among arts groups to cater for audiences across the broadest possible spectrum, explains Baboró’s Artistic Director Lali Morris.
