AVIVA YET TO OUTLINE FUTURE OF GALWAY OPERATION

There’s fears for hundreds of jobs at Insurance company Aviva, which has operations in the city.

The company has a call centre in Knocknacarra as well as a branch in Eyre square.

However, the company says it’s too early to speculate on the final outcome of a review of its business in Ireland.

Reports suggest that at least 500 positions are under threat, as the firm looks to restructure its European business.
