ATHENRY TO GET NEW COMMUNITY CENTRE

Athenry town is to get a new Community Centre now that the County Council has granted planning permission.

The Community Council can now build the new centre, incorporating a theatre, dressing rooms, a bar, exhibition area, dance studio, meeting rooms and art room.

The development of the community centre in Athenry is subject to some planning conditions.

Chief among these is the stipulation that an archaeologist monitor all topsoil removed from the site.

Also the proposed bar must only be operated when a performance or exhibition is taking place at the Athenry Community Centre
