ATHENRY STUDENT WINS BEST INDIVIDUAL AWARD AT BT YOUNG SCIENTIST

Athenry Presentation College student Edel Browne has taken the "Best Individual" award at the BT Young Scientist exhibition.

Her project focused on the Technology sector and involved a device called "Free Feet" which works to reduce freezing of gait in Parkinson’s disease.

Her award includes a BT perpetual trophy and 2 thousand 400 euro.

The top award went to three students from Kinsale Community School in Cork for their project which examined the effects of bacteria on plant germination.
