ASSAULTS CAUSING HARM IN GALWAY CITY UP BY 50 PER CENT

Assaults causing harm in Galway city and Salthill are up fifty per cent on last year.

Figures released by the Galway Garda division reveal there were 75 assaults causing harm inflicted on victims in the city in the first six months of this year.

There were only fifty such assaults recorded in the same period last year.
