ASHFORD CASTLE SALE TO GALWAY DEVELOPER IN JEOPARDY

A legal challenge has been mounted against the sale of Ashford Castle in Co Mayo to a well-known Galway Developer.

American Widow Kathleen Connor is alleging she’s the owner of a bedroom suite worth 320,000 euro in Ashford Castle.

Sale of the castle was agreed for 56 million euro last August to Galway Businessman Gerry Barrett.

The sale of agreement gives the buyer, Gerry Barrett, an option not to complete the sale if Ms Kathleen Connor’s claims are not decided by May 31 next.

The case was listed at the Commerical Court yesterday.
