Arts Minister in fresh admonishment of turf cutters breaking the law in Galway
Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Arts Minister has accused turf-cutters, many of whom are in Galway, of deliberately ignoring the law.
Jimmy Deenihan says people who want to cut turf on protected areas, 13 of which are in county Galway are refusing to admit that they’re doing so illegally.
He’s told independent TD Luke ‘Ming’ Flanagan – who is himself a turfcutter – that he’s not making any effort to find a solution to the impasse.
The Minister says Deputy Flanagan is simply ignoring the law.
