ARAN FERRIES SOLD FOR 7 FIGURE SUM

Two Aran Island ferries put up for auction in the city last month have been sold to a buyer in Mauritius.

The Irish Times is reporting bidding for the monohull MV Clann Eagle 1 and MV Clann na nOileáin had reached €950,000 at the city auction on February 24th when they were withdrawn.

Negotiations followed a later offer, and a sale has been agreed for a "seven figure sum".
