APPEALS BOARD GIVES GO AHEAD FOR EXTRA PARKING IN CITY
Date Published: 01-May-2009
Parking in Galway city could be improved now that the final go-ahead has been given for a multi-storey carpark on the Tuam road.
Tom Broderick has been given approval by An Bord Pleanála for 84 parking spaces on the site of Connaught House.
Joesph O’ Halloran and Sons Ltd of O Hallorans Joinery appealled the City Council’s decision to grant permission for the carpark.
They argued that the car park would be too large, goes beyond the needs of Connaught House and would cause obstruction on his private roadway.
However An Bord Pleanála is allowing the car park and offices at the Tuam Road to go ahead.
