APPEALS BOARD ALLOWS KILKERRIN MAST

A broadband mast is to go up in the Kilkerrin area of the county, despite strong opposition from locals.

An Bord Pleanála has overturned a decision made by Galway County Council in June to refuse Hutchinson 3G permission to erect the mast at Newforest.

The Board has gone against the recommendation of its own Inspector and states that the mast would not have a significant effect on the environment.
