Appeal to use public transport as city traffic volumes increase
Galway bay fm newsroom – Galway City Council is urging motorists living close to work and school to switch to public transport in an effort to improve traffic flow.
The latest analysis of recent changes in traffic patterns attributes recent gridlock in the city with the increased volumes and the work on the Bodkin roundabout.
According to the analysis, the upgrade works on the Headford Road/Sean Mulvoy junction have displaced traffic away from this junction to other routes.
Subject to weather conditions, the works are expected to be completed in two weeks.
