APPEAL FAILS TO RETAIN CITY CENTRE PHONE MAST

Permission to retain an unauthorised telecommunications mast, which is part of Vodafone’s GSM and 3G broadband telecommunications network, has been refused.

An Bord Pleanala has refused an application to retain the mast at the Western Hotel in Prospect Hill.

Eugene Keville of Keville and O’Sullivan Associates applied to Galway City Council to retain the mast at the protected structure on Prospect hill.

The application was refused and Eugene Keville subsequently appealed the decision to An Bord Pleanala.
