ANXIETY OVER JOBS AT GALWAY BRANCHES OF ULSTER BANK AND FIRST ACTIVE

Up to 550 jobs are to go at the Ulster Bank Group, which covers First Active and Ulster Bank, both of which have Galway branches.

The company has confirmed that it’s merging First Active and Ulster Bank under one brand, in a bid to cut costs.

There are five Ulster Bank branches in Galway and two First Active branches, where staff face an anxious wait about their jobs.
