Anti-vaccination cert protestor creates clatter outside classical concert
From this week’s Galway City Tribune – A noisy protest against the use of Covid-19 vaccination certificates at cultural events was held outside a classical music concert in a city church this week.
The first in-person lunchtime recital in 20 months of the Galway Ensemble in Residence ConTempo Quartet at St Nicholas’ Church was disrupted by at least two anti-vaccination cert protestors.
The popular show had been staged online during Covid-19, but the first in-person audience returned on Tuesday.
Members of the audience had to register online for a ticket, and vaccination certs were required at the door for entry.
The beginning of the concert was delayed by about 10 minutes, and attendees said the opening pieces of music were overshadowed by the banging of pots and pans by a protestor at the door.
A woman, with anti-vaccination certificate paraphernalia pinned to her clothing, was filmed by a man banging pots and pans outside.
