The tendering process for the long-awaited Ballinfoille neighbourhood complex is to recommence.

City Officials have today advised Galway City East Cllrs that the tendering process undertaken in the last year has proved ‘inconclusive’.

The plans, which had been estimated to cost more than two million euro had been subject to a re-assessment of tender applications after the initial contractor pulled out last August.

A public tender notice is to be issued within the next number of days.

Brendan Smith of local campaign group RAPID Urban Regeneration and Renewal says it’s another unfortunate blow to a much needed project.
