Annaghdown residents say they fear for the safety of their drinking water after witnessing a number of horses being washed in Annaghdown pier.

Over 100 concerned residents attended a public meeting last night, to discuss their concerns over the safety of the group water scheme, which has an outlet pipe at the pier.

They also raised concerns over children bathing in the pier, which is a public area.

A group of residents is now set to meet with county officials next week to discuss the safety and future of Annaghdown pier.
