Ann Marie takes helm at Renvyle as Ronnie retires
The historic Renvyle House Hotel on Connemara’s Renvyle Peninsula has a new general manager.
Anne Marie Kelly will take the helm following the announcement by current CEO Ronnie Counihan that he will retire next year after 20 years in charge of Renvyle and 45 years in the hospitality business.
GMIT graduate, Ann Marie Kelly has more than 30 years’ experience in hospitality, most recently working as general manager at the Station House Hotel in Clifden.
She previously held management positions with the Copthorne Tara Kensington, the Shelbourne in Dublin, Jurys Hotels and the Keadeen Hotel, Kildare. She’s a familiar face in Connemara, having run the Forge bar, restaurant and accommodation in Moycullen for 14 years before moving to the Station House.
Ms Kelly will work alongside Mr Counihan for the next two months before he steps down in January.
He will be “sorely missed”, according to the Chairman and Director of Renvyle House Hotel Zoe Coyle Fitzgerald.
“As one of the country’s most respected hoteliers, Ronnie is loved by guests and staff alike and is a mentor, colleague and friend,” said Ms Coyle Fitzgerald.
