The newly appointed Dr Michael Casey of the British and Irish Trading Alliance is to address Galway Chamber of Commerce in the autumn.

The British and Irish Trading Alliance is a not-for-profit organisation; its networking and trading events aim to bring Irish and British business people together to develop new friendships and business opportunities.

“Our mission, as I perceive it, is to facilitate our members in growing business relationships that will promote and strengthen trade, in all of its varying forms, between our two countries,” he said.

With reference to the Galway visit, Dr. Casey spoke glowingly of the cultural and entrepreneurial achievements of the late Peter O’Toole, President Michael D. Higgins and Prof. James J. Browne, President of NUI Galway.

In the autumn, Dr. Casey will head a B.I.T.A. delegation to Galway to meet members of the city’s Chamber of Commerce.
