Angeline’s Buíochas show in gratitude for gift of life
The third solo exhibition from Galway City artist, Angeline Cooke, which is currently showing at Café Renzo in Eyre Street, includes paintings in watercolour, oil and encaustic.
The exhibition, titled Buíochas, or Gratitude, is dedicated to organ donors who have given the gift of life to others.
“I received the priceless gift of a kidney transplant in 1996 and am enjoying good health ever since,” Angeline explains.
A retired teacher, Angeline’s main hobby is painting and she’s currently attending classes with artists Denise Hogan and Eleanor Brennan. Angeline is also a member of Galway Art Club.
The paintings in this exhibition are inspired by the Circle of Life National Organ Donor Commemorative Garden in Salthill, the beauty of the West of Ireland generally and her travels abroad.
