AN TAISCE WELCOME REFUSAL OF MAJOR TUAM RETAIL DEVELOPMENT

The decision not to allow a major redevelopment at Milltown Road in Tuam go ahead is further proof of bad planning practices at Galway County Council.

That’s the view of an Taisce in the wake of an Bord Pleanala’s decision to overturn permission granted by county planners to Pat Donoghue.

Permission was originally granted to knock the existing buildings at Townparks and build a major commercial and residential development.

An Bord Pleanala overturned the decision on the grounds that it was contrary to national planning guidelines and existing development plans.
