An Post says Caherlistrane unlikely to keep its Post Office

Galway Bay fm newsroom – An Post has indicated that it’s unlikely the post office service will be re-instated in Caherlistrane.
Officials from An Post met with the delegation from the community in Caherlistrane last evening.
A scaled back post office service had been operating out of the shop in Caherlistrane for the past 6 years.
However when the shop closed several weeks ago, the service ceased.
The shop has since re-opened and the new operator is willing to continue the post office service, but An Post says it is policy not to renew the licence.
Speaking to Galway Bay fm News, Councillor Seán Canney, who attended the meeting says there is no business case to close the post office in Caherlistrane.
