AN BORD PLEANALA REFUSES TUAM SHOPPING COMPLEX

An Bord Pleanala has refused planning permission for a shopping complex at Townparks Tuam.

Pat Donohue was originally granted planning for the development to include 360 parking spaces and a shuttle bus pick up and set down area in 2011.

However, the plans were objected to some weeks later.

The higher planning authority has now decided to refuse planning for the shopping complex stating it would be contrary to the proper planning and sustainable development of the area.
