Galway’s award winning Access Music Project – AMP – has provided music training to over 200 students for the past 15 years and the class of 2014  will get their opportunity to shine this Friday evening at their end-of-year show  which will be held in the city’s Kelly’s Bar, Bridge Street.

Since AMP’s inception, the end-of-year event has showcased a wide range of musical styles as students get a chance to demonstrate the skills they have acquired throughout the year.

Past participants have gone on to critical acclaim. Some have become teachers in their own right, while others have featured on the cover of Hot Press magazine and attracted the attention of figures in the music industry.

This invaluable course has become a launching point for many of Galway’s finest musicians, and serves as a place to nurture and give discipline to the musicians who will hopefully go on to become cultural voices and teachers for the city.

What promises to be a dynamic and entertaining show will be held this Friday at 9pm in Kelly’s Bar. Tickets are €5 and are on sale from the bar. All proceeds go to help funding next year’s AMP course. More information about the course can be found at http://www.accessmusicproject.ie
