Galway’s fast-rising Amazing Apples will feature in the line-up of free entertainment at the Clayton Hotel for next week’s Galway Races.

The Clayton is offering a free shuttle bus back to the hotel after the Races so that punters can enjoy their live acts, which will also include Sean Slattery & the Connections.

Next Wednesday, July 29, the Clayton will host an Outdoor Broadcast with i-Radio. Live entertainment on the evening will be provided by Manilla Strings, Raindance and The Gamblers in the hotel’s outdoor Pavilion Bar. Meanwhile Jason Fallon and DJ Kevin Belton will take stage in the main Enclosure Bar.

The Clayton Ballroom is set to be rocked on Wednesday night by the five- piece multi-instrumentalist Amazing Apples, whose second single Slipping By peaked at Number One on the iTunes downloads charts, and stayed in the official Irish charts for two weeks. Their debut album A little Sense, released recently, went straight to Number Three in the independent Irish charts. Admission is free and people are advised to arrive early to ensure admission.

Thursday next, July 30, is Ladies’ Day, when style and elegance will be on the cards, with a ‘Best Dressed’ competition for women and men. The ‘Best Dressed Female’ will receive a dress and head-piece of choice sponsored by Standún of Spiddal, and the ‘Best Dressed Male’ will win a formal suit, shoes, shirt and tie sponsored by Hanley & Company.

Patrons are advised to get their dancing shoes later on Thursday night as Sean Slattery & the Connections are set to rock the ballroom. Racegoers will be given a second opportunity to be entertained by Sean & the Connections on Friday night, when they return to do it all again.
