ALMOST 70 MILLION EURO PAID TO GALWAY FARMERS UNDER WASTE MANAGEMENT SCHEME

Almost 70 million euro has been paid to farmers in Galway under the Farm Waste Management Scheme.

Junior Agriculture Minister, Tony Killeen, says that more 8 and a half million euro has been paid to 765 Galway farmers since the start of the month.

The January payments are in respect of the second round of grant payments of 40 percent under the scheme.

Minister Killeen says the programme is the most signficant on-farm investment scheme in the history of the State.
