ALMOST 50 CALLS MADE TO HSE WEST MISCARRIAGE HELPLINE

The HSE West has received almost fifty calls to its helpline set up following the emergence of incorrectly diagnosed miscarriages.

To date, four women living in Galway have publicly come forward and told their story of how they were wrongly told they had lost their babies.

The HSE west confirmed that 47 calls have been made to the helpline to date.

Second scans are now "standard" in Galway University Hospitals in cases of suspected miscarriage.
