NUI Galway graduate and keynote speaker, Kevin Kelly, from Furbo, will stage a first in its kind ‘Speaker Summit’ at Croke Park on February 19.

The event, aimed at coaches, consultants, as well as existing and potential speakers, will bring together world class speakers to teach the necessary skills to succeed in the professional speaker’s market.

According to Mr Kelly, a best-selling author, there are two key components to a good speech and speaker, both the message and the messenger.

For him, it is the marrying of both of these that will create an excellent speaker. “If the two become one, you’re going to become a very successful speaker,” he said. In the room, there will be five speakers, bringing together over 100 years experience of public speaking.

Included in the list of speakers at the event is Moycullen native, Patrick McKeown. Mr McKeown has received a six-figure advance from Harper Collins for his latest book ‘The Oxygen Advantage’, and, according to Mr Kelly, “he makes a residual income out of books that would put us all to shame”.

Mr McKeown will speak about both the process of publication and anxiety, something he has written extensively on over his career.

Tickets are currently on-sale at www.speakeracademy.ie.
