The Ennis Book Club Festival will run from Friday to Sunday, March 4-6, with a programme of live events and activities for all ages.

The opening event is based on Look! It’s A Woman Writer! Irish Literary Feminisms, edited by Éilís Ni Dhuibhne, in which 21 Irish women, born in and around the 1950s, described their writing lives. Panellists Lia Mills Catherine Dunne and Evelyn Conlon will discuss what it means to be a woman writer. Arlen House publisher Alan Hayes will host.

Local author Joe Queally will discuss his new book, Echoes from a Civil War, at 4.30pm in the Temple Gate Hotel.

For Friday’s closing event, author and playwright  Michael Harding will chat to the Festival’s artistic director Dani Gill about his latest work, A Cloud Where the Birds Rise. That’s in Glór at 8.30pm.

Author Mike McCormack will team up with Vinny Browne of Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop on Saturday at 11.30am to explore Ten Books You Should Read.

Award-winning poet and novelist Paul Perry and journalist Audrey Magee will chat about their debut novels – The Garden and The Colony – at 12pm in St Columba’s Church.
