Alcohol ban on Galway Heuston rail service due to anti-social behaviour
Galway Bay fm newsroom – An alcohol ban is being imposed on the lunchtime Galway to Heuston Sunday rail service (2 March) due to concerns surrounding anti-social behaviour.
The measure follows complaints from customers about regular instances of anti-social behaviour connected to excessive alcohol on board the line.
The ban comes into effect for Iarnród Eireann customers on the 1pm service this Sunday and no alcoholic beverages will be sold by catering staff on-board.
Customers boarding with alcohol will also have it confiscated.
Spokesperson Jane Cregan says the decision was not taken likely.
