AIRPORT SIT-IN STAFF HOPEFUL OF REDUNDANCY PAYMENTS
Date Published: 08-Feb-2012
Staff at Galway Airport are hopeful that they may receive their redundancy payments after the matter was raised in the Seanad last evening.
The employees are now waiting to be briefed on the outcome of crunch talks on the financially crippled company as the board are meeting at the Carnmore facility.
Nine personnel also assisted in the emergency transfer of live organs to the UK overnight during their sit-in protest.
They responded to the medical emergency flight call just after 9.30 last night.
Speaking to Galway Bay fm news, sit-in protestor Sean Adair says the matter was raised by Galway Senators last evening and staff are now more hopeful of a positive outcome.
