Aer Arann to offer long-haul check-through

AER Arann are in the process of enabling passengers to check in for long haul flights at regional airports as part of expanding their services to customers.

Since June passengers can check in with Aer Arann from Cork Airport for transatlantic routes and the plan is to extend this interlink service to other airports, including Galway. The company is already in negotiation with three other international carriers and an announcement is expected about one of them by the end of August.

This week, Aer Arann’s Managing Director, Garry Cullen, was in town to say that far from closing shop, the company was going from strength to strength and he discounted comments made by Ryanair’s CEO, Michael O’Leary that smaller airlines, like Aer Arann would be hit by the recession and that there was no future for regional airports.
