AER ARANN REJECTS SHANNON-HEATHROW POSSIBILITY
Date Published: 19-Oct-2007
Galway -based airline Aer Arann is rejecting Aer Lingus suggestions that it was approached to resume the Shannon-Heathrow route when the airline announced it was axing the service.
It’s emerged that the Aer Lingus Chairman John Sharman informed the transport department of a possible deal with Aer Arann that would see the smaller airline retaining the slots.
But aviation experts have expressed their surprise at the suggestion, saying Aer Arann would not be in a position to rescue the service.
And the airline’s spokesperson has said it never held discussions with Aer Lingus on the issue.
