Galway Bay fm newsroom – Business in Galway in the run-up to Christmas was not as positive as retailers had expected.

While trade in the city and county towns was strong in late November and early December, adverse weather right before Christmas, slackened customer footfall.

That’s according to Chairperson of Galway Business Association, Anthony Ryan.

Retail Excellence Ireland, which surveyed more than a thousand businesses across the country, says the trend in Galway is similar to the national trend.

Anthony Ryan says that business was looking positive in Galway until the storms hit.
