Adventurous times as Marguerite launches latest Kapheus book

Readers following the series of Kapheus books for pre-teens need wait no longer for the latest instalment which will be launched in Galway next week.

Kapheus Spirit is the fifth in the series written by Marguerite Tonery, a Galway city woman who also runs the Tribes Press publishing company which offers help to anyone needing to edit or publish a manuscript.

Marguerite is just back from Toronto in Canada where she attended the 2019 Word in the Street festival and where her stash of books, including copies of her own Kapheus titles were sold out during the week-long event.

Indeed it was in Toronto, where Marguerite first visited years ago when she was a teenager, that Kapheus Spirit was launched, a first for her and a first for her publishing company, which was officially established in May, 2018.

The Canadian festival celebrated its 30th anniversary this year and Tribes Press was the first Irish publisher to take part in the popular event which promotes books and reading.

“It was a great experience. There was a great reception for the Irish and I would definitely go again. We sold out the ten titles I brought, including my own five titles,” she says.

“It was also a valuable trip for us as far as market research went as it has now put our titles before readers in Toronto and Ottawa,” adds Marguerite who intends taking a breather from her own writing to concentrate on marketing the book and to focus on the publishing side of the business.
