Aces for City Tennis League

GALWAY’S young tennis aces battled it out at Galway Lawn Tennis Club throughout Race Week to scoop one of the prizes on offer and enjoy a fun day of tennis games, badminton and squash at the Galway Final of the nationwide KitKat Parks Tennis programme.
Over the past four weeks in five venues across Galway – Westside, Crestwood, Knocknacarra, Barna and Maree, tennis coaches have put over 500 children aged between 6 and 17 years through their paces in the annual KitKat Parks Tennis Leagues.
The programme culminated in an exciting grand slam final on Tuesday, giving Ireland’s next Rafael Nadal or Venus Williams the opportunity to be discovered. The Mayor of Galway, Councillor Padraig Conneely, officiated the presentation ceremony.
Tom O’Loughlin, President, Parks Tennis Ireland, congratulated all winners and finalists for embracing and enhancing the spirit of the KitKat Parks Tennis Leagues.
