Access Music Project brings curtain down with final gig
The Access Music Project (AMP) will hold its final gig on Thursday September 8 at The Loft Venue over Seven on Bridge Street in Galway City, and will showcase this year’s participants performing a collaboration of songs over a number of different genres, styles and a wide variety of instruments.
The gig will mark the end of its 17th and final year, during which time it provided focused accredited training to a select number of city musicians each year in order to develop the talents and the knowledge of participants in order to further their careers in the music industry while also providing opportunities leading to further education.
The acclaimed and award winning programme, directed by Eilish O’Connor, had become an integral part of the west of Ireland’s music scene over the past two decades and acted as a launching pad for many of Ireland’s finest musicians.
A large quantity of these past participants have gone on to critical acclaim, not only locally but, nationally and abroad.
■ Tickets for the gig costs €5 and will be available on the door. Doors open at 7.30pm.
