A very personal film premiere

SEX and the City’ may have been hitting the big screens nationwide in the past week, but Galway Community College PLC students had different premieres on their minds – of their own short films and documentaries at the EYE cinema.

The Film and TV PLC students at the college hosted their annual screening of short films and documentaries on Wednesday. The films are an eclectic mix of genres from Sci Fi, Horror, and Comedy covering such topics as the Galway Rape Crisis Centre, Terrorism, Cops and Robbers, and the ginger haired PLC student Ed McDonagh telling his own story about what it’s like to be ginger in the modern world.

A total of 21 short films and documentaries featured this year, which have taken eight months to produce as part of the students’ final portfolios of work.The course demands ………………
