8 weeks to complete review on Toghermore House
A review into community mental health services in Galway and Roscommon, which will include Toghermore House in Tuam, will be complete within 8 weeks.
The HSE West says the review is focusing on patients, equality, access to quality care and integration with other mainstream health services.
At a recent meeting of Tuam Town Council, Councillor Mary Loftus claimed that she heard that Toghermore residential facility would only be kept open until Christmas.
Local representatives and service users at Toghermore are concerned about the prospect of the facility closing for good.
The HSE says a report with findings and recommendations will be made available within the next 8 weeks.
The final report will recommend a future strategy for Community Health Services.
