60 new jobs for Nortel

Sixty new high level research jobs are to be created by telecommunications giant Nortel at their plant in Galway.

The new positions will be created within the multinational company’s global Research & Development centre in the Mervue Business Park.

Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheal Martin made the announcement during a visit to the facility on Wednesday. It will see the total Galway workforce increase to more than 300 over the next three years.
