50 expressions of interest for refurb of Ballinasloe Town Hall
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Up to 50 expressions of interest have been received for a project involving the refurbishment of Ballinasloe Town Hall.
Works include replacing the roof on the protected structure as well as remedial works inside using conservation approved techniques.
The building was originally constructed in 1848 as a banqueting hall in conjunction with Ballinasloe Horse Fair.
It was built by the Royal Agricultural Society.
The 50 expressions of interest will not be assessed as part of a pre-qualification process.
The project will then go out to tender again at the end of next month.
It’s hoped works can commence at the beginning of April.
The building is now largely used as a performing arts centre.
