5 thousand jobs created in West over past 12 months out of 67 thousand nationwide

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Of the 67 thousand jobs created nationwide over the past 12 months – just 5 thousand of those were created in the west.
Dublin accounted for the largest figure – 33 thousand jobs – while the border region experienced a drop of some 3 thousand roles.
According to the Irish Independent, most of the jobs created in the past year are in the services sector – such as ICT, transport, hospitality, food and administration.
The figures from the CSO come as the government will today launch a one billion euro fund that aims to boost rural communities.
